I haven't had a speeding charge since I was 20(now 27), and I haven't had any points since I got into a car accident earlier this month. I am a bus driver and I admitted to the the speeding ticket and pleaded with the judge if I could not take the points because I would not have a job. I understand that I have to take consequences for my actions, but I feel that it's unethical to decide my livelihood because of a speeding ticket. I had points before, but I been working so hard to correct my mistakes (over 5 years) and for me to lose my job over a speeding ticket. Not to mention that they did everything in their power to make it seem like I'm just an criminal. I hate being black in white American.
Received a speeding ticket on US23. After being issued the ticket I asked if I was able to go online and pay my ticket and the officer replied that I would have to pay it over the phone, which I thought was inconvenient since the court is only open Monday-Friday and it was after hours on a Friday. The issue isn't me being able to pay the ticket because I'm willing to pay the ticket asap which is why I asked about paying online. What was even more frustrating was that I asked how much the ticket was and the officer could not even give me an amount. The whole thing was just...odd. Not complaining about getting a ticket, I take full responsibility for that. I just think it might be useful to have a better method of paying a ticket, such as paying with a card online, rather than giving my card number and information over the phone to a stranger...
